Did some more digging. Found a couple of pictures in the Schiffer "Panzer I" book. Definitely no extra side armour. I've attached a rough drawing of what I was able to come up with for the antenna cable. Hopefully I made it clear enough. On the antenna, the cable is definitely connected at the "cross-member/main antenna frame" junction. I do not have a clear picture/drawing of where the cable enters the hull. Position 1 appears the most likely.
