Roy,

I'm not sure what you are clarifying?

The M4A2 75mm large hatch Sherman was actually still a dry storage vehicle. It is the only vehicle with the large hull hatch that recieved applique armor. when Tamiya first came out with their M4A3 Sherman in 1981 they included the applique with the kit. I believe they mistook late M4A2 photos with the applique as M4A3 Shermans. Without seeing the rear and top of the hull they can be mistaken.
