I cannot reproduce it here nor find the same picture online, but on page 21 of "Stalin's Giants - KV-I & KV-II" by Horst Scheibert, there is an image of the bolted on turret armor, and the front and rear side plates have a noticable gap between them. These plates, in relation to each other where the edges of the 2 plates meet in the center of the turret, are not aligned squarely. The forward plate's rear edge seems to protrude somewhat further out than the front edge of the rear plate.
I hope that is clear and makes sense!
Also, in "KW 1 * KW 2 Foto Album" by Waldemar Trojca the handful of pages of photos of the KV-I with the bolt on armor show a variety of aligned (or misaligned) turret armor plates. Some of the vehicle turret armor plates are better aligned than others. |
