Any book by David Fletcher is worth having. No-one knows more about the history & development of British AFVs than him. He is to British AFVs what Steve Zaloga is to US ones, or Thomas Jentz is to German ones.
Vanguard of Victory covers the full history of 79th Armoured Div. & although there aren't that many modelling-specific photos in it, there are a lot of shots of unusual & prototype vehicles plus 79th AD vehicles in action (markings/weathering etc.). I used it as a reference a few years ago when I built a Sherman Crab for the Westminster Dragoons museum, & found it very useful & a fascinating read!

Hope this is of use,
Chris.
