>>The Canadian turret rests on a cast hull Grizzly (Canadian production version of the M4A1). In the US, at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, it sits on an M4A2 hull.
>>The APG turret as resided on several different hulls over the years for Museum display purposes. The M4A2 does not have any of the internal Firefly hull conversions.
Mike,
This sentence makles it appear that the APG frefly turret/M4A2 combo and the Grizzly Ic combo are similar in intent and result. The APG turret does, indeed, simply reside or rest on its current hull, but as you imply, the Grizzly has the Firefly interior and fittings and is, by any definition, a real Firefly.
My comments are mostly aimed at Lee, to pass on more complete information as I dare say you know this already.
>>The Canadian Grizzly was a one-off test bed vehicle. It was evidently unsuccessful, as it went no further and currently resides in a Museum.
I'm not sure we konw that it wasn't successful, we only know it wasn't proceded with. Possibly because the Grizzly itself was phased out of production?
