Hi Patrick,

It sounds like you are referring to the cast hull M4A1s (Mk I) which the British used in the desert. Many of these had direct vision hulls and very early VVSS similar to the M3 Lee/Grant. The first all welded hulls used by the British were the M4A2 (Mk III in British nomenclature) which also arrived included a few with direct vision hulls.

Do you need ideas where to get the hulls? If so, I recommend Formations for the early M4A1 with direct vision:
