The Panther didn't get fielded until summer of 1943. Whether any of the units on the Leningrad front rec'd any early on is unlikely in my memory. This, coupled with the extreme unlikelihood of any model 41 T-34s remaining in service until mid-late 1943 (the bulk of them would have been used up during Barbarossa) makes your scenario extremely unlikely, IMHO.
A Panzer III versus a T-34 m. 41 in the Caucusus, 1942. Likely.
Panther D vs. T-34 m. 1941 in Leningrad front late 1943 -- highly doubtful. |
