Hi Sam
This is a very interesting Stug indeed. In addition to the zimmerit and bolted on armour it also appears to have single piece engine access hatches, steel return rollers and a "Saukopf" gun mantlet.
I know that when production of the Stug was extended to factorys which normally produced the Panzer III (can't remember the exact factories or the date off the top of my head) they used exist Panzer III ausf M/N chassis's to produce Stugs until these were used up.
I have seen the odd picture of a Stug III with the single access hatches and even one with the Panzer III M/N deep wading exhaust but all of these were early version of the Stug with bolt-on and even welded on additional armour (both early features). Certainly none of pictures I have seen have any trace of zimmerit or steel return rollers and "Saukopf" mantlets which were later features.
It just goes to show that almost anything appears to go when it comes to armour modelling (especially with the Stug).
Thanks very much for posting the pictures. There are some interesting vehicles in there.
