| Subject: | German half track question | |

This is a question, that came into my mind while building german halftracks: could they also drive (maybe a limited distance) without their front wheels?
Why do i ask? when i was a kid, my grandfather told me about some of his expieriences of the war. he served in france, afrika and russia, where he was seriously wounded and got back to germany.
He said, the halftracks could travel without frontwheels also, if they were damaged. Does anyone know something about that? I am sure he must have seen this at least once. He died in the late nineties, when i did not have much opportunity and interest in modeling and afv technique, otherwise i would have asked him again.
your opinion?
