Thanks guys,
i always believed it did not just come from my grandpa´s fantasy.
but i would really like to see a picture of a halftrack driving without the frontwheels.
i know about the steering. on slow speed on the road and on low curves the frontwheels do the steering alone. on high speed and narrow curves the trackbrakes were used to assist in steering. and yes, the kettenkrad can drive pretty good without frontwheel.
i just wondered about the considerable overhang of the halftracks (armored and softskinned) the complete engine and frontaxle is way in front of the tracks. i would be worried that the vehicle bends over.....i hope you know what i mean. my english sometimes lacks the right words.
