Arun,

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm relying on George Forty's "US Army Handbook," which discusses front line resupply, where "front line companies depended on the nightly arrival of jeeps and trailers, usually under cover of darkness in the evening, when in contact, enemy activity and terrain permitting of course!"

He further states "An ammunition resupply was also likely at the same time, although the battalion ammunition and supply platoon usually maintained an ammunition point from which ammunition could be collected any time."

A diagram on the following page shows distribution to infantry companies using "ammunition trucks, coy vehicles [I assume "company" vs. "shy" ;-)] or hand carrying parties."

So at least I have a leg to stand on regarding use of a jeep and trailer. And I've also done another meail call/resupply diorama with a deuce and a half so I want to mix it up a little.

I've also been thinking along the same lines as you suggest using the vehicle to ferry wounded back to the rear. I've got a couple wounded figures I might have being helped toward the jeep while the ammo is being unloaded from the trailer.

It's all a little mushy yet and subject to change. But I do appreciate your insights and will keep them in mind.

Best,

Tim
