One version was to communicate with ground units.

The other version was planned to communicate with the own airforce units (Luftwaffe) to coordinate combined actions.
But in fact the second version was used in the same way like the fist version.

Both types had existed in all 3 Panther versions (Ausf.D, Ausf.A, Ausf.G)


For example; look at the "panzer trackts" publications, it's a great reference.
