It's a reprint of U.S. Army Field Manual from 1945, which basically covers the German Order of Battle, uniforms, equipment, etc. Close to a thousand pages, but very generic photographs on the equipment used.
There appears to be two large rectangular boxes on either sides of the bed roughly over the rear wheels. In the description it says there were two large storage boxes for rations.
