It was the airborne version with the box trail that could be split into two loads for air dropping. As far as I know, nobody has ever kitted the original split trail gun.
Tamiya's white metal alloy was extremely soft, and you will find this kit a frustrating build if you do track one down. The axles are so soft they will bend under the weight of the completed model, for instance, and parts can be bent with minor finger pressure. A resin kit will do just as nicely, and will be far less aggravating.
