I was at Chapters[Canada]today and came cross PANZERGRENADIER DIVISIONS,1939-45[The essential vehicle identification guide]$14,98.[Chris Bishop]
This is the second book on this series,I have purchaced, the first being WEHRMACHT PANZER DIVISIONS,1939-45[The essential Tank Identification guide]same price[Jorge Rosado, and Chris Bishop]both in hard back.
They also have one on Luftwaffe markings, and one on U-Boat markings, which I have yet to find.
Though far from the boast of 'essential' more along the lines of 'general',both books are full of great illistrations,of German fighting vehicle's,organised chronologically by division and formation date's,with listings of unit commanders, vehicle type,in service, numbers, markings, and unit structures etc.
A lot of the art work is repeated throughout the pages of both books, but with different colour, and markings for the different fronts, time, and divisions, etc. With the Panzer,Div book having soft skin,as well as tanks represented.
All in all,not bad, both will be of some use to anyone building WW2 german AFV,s and other vehicles, and for a couple of $,more than a modelers mag,is well worth the price. |
