Yes it's the new III J kit. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the barrel if anything. The Armorscale barrel will add 2mm to the overall length. That's a lot better than nothing. I'm guessing that should get the gun with a millimeter or two of reality. That is to say the DML gun appears to be around 3mm short (just a guess). I do not think it is 8.8mm short as the Achtung Panzer drawings would suggest.
The only question is whether at this stage I can complete the surgery without ruining the model. The Armorscale barrel kit is designed to replace the entire mantlet. I'll have to take a close look at the situation before I decide how to tackle the problem.
BTW how much longer is the Jordi Rubio barrel than the old DML barrel when installed?
