I had this posted on Tank Talk, no response, so thought I'd try here as well...

I've developed a fascination with the paint scheme worn by some of the Stugs assigned to Panzer Division Hermann Goering in Italy.

The old Panzer Colors has some shots and a plate of a Stug F (or F/8) in a heavily applied green/brown scheme that looks like it was sponged on in a hundred little dabs, very littel dunkelgelb showing. All the Stugs shown are named (Ulla was one).

The photos show these vehicles during a training exercise, but I can only assume this scheme was used in combat as well...

Can anyone tell me the name/number of the Stug unit, and if it carried any particular markings?

TIA,

Guy
PS -- more info -- an on-line OOB on HG says the Stugs were all Gs, so either that is wrong or the Squadron caption is wrong (so very possible!)
