I did a review of the Verlinden update a while back - when mounting the winch be aware that there is no rear support provided - it will have to be fabricated. The winch bolts to the hull sides and not the floor. There are no published photos (print or internet) of what the rear mount looks like to my knowledge.
There is some evidence that the MG-20mm gun mount was a post-war French modification when they collected and used all the "surplus" Panthers to reestablish their armored forces. Of course this was probably based on a German modification as late in the war there was no rear to recover AFVs.
Good luck on the kit bash. Personally, I think you are better off using a DML or Tamiya G model. The spade from the Italeri kit is not bad for early-mid production units. The Famo may be small, but looks similar to late production units.
The photo used on Track-link's homepage for the Construction Theme is my Bergepanther and I sent in some construction photos somewhere on this site. They may prove useful.
Just some thoughts.
