It appears that the Sturmtiger was built on remanufactured later Tiger I hulls, which had zimmerit. The zimmerit was removed in areas were the big bolts went to fix the superstructure. Other than that it was left intact, at least on the photos I've seen.
There was one prototype built on an earlier Tiger I with the rubber-rimmed roadwheels. I don't remember if this had zimmerit or not. There was no additional zimmerit added to the superstructure.
The Sturmtiger was deployed in the west (the Ardennes I believe) and in the seige of Warsaw inthe East. Then mostly in the west in Germany.
There is a well known series of an abandonned Sturmtiger in the west, it appears overall dark yellow with green wavy lines. There is also some movie footage of a gun firing on Warsaw, it's hard to make out the scheme.
