Thanks for the reply.
I concur that there are places to measure steel wheels- Fort Knox, Tigers in
Saumur, Vimoutiers, or La Gleize for example, but that doesn't really answer
the question of what was used on the "Steelwheel" series, unless you agree
that they used the same running gear as the late Tigers.
Jentz' references the original documentation as stating standardization of
Tigers(I and II) and Panthers on 800mm steel wheel developed for the
Panther II project. That makes sense to me- one interchangeable part for a
number of vehicles as a solution to a spares nightmare and a need to
conserve rubber. Can't really imagine Wa Pru. developing 2 sizes, though
stranger things surely occurred.
And, as was previously pointed out, this is like counting hairs on an angels
head- the difference in diameter is only 60mm,or 6cm, which is 0.0017m in
1/35 scale!
I wonder whether we can notice that difference in diameter in photo's.
