If you notice that some late war Pz IVJ with "Thoma" screen schurzen also had fittings to have a "top" portion too, it seems likely there were other field mockups like that.
FYI: there wouldn't have been any StuG IIIs with side skirts at the battle of Leningrad. German forces were pushed back way before that schurzen was implemented. Kinda like the stock footage of US SBD Dauntless dive bombers used for every sequence cited as Japanese aircraft. That's TV for you. |
