| Subject: | Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L Final Drive Covers | |
| Date: | Feb 3, 2008 |
| From: | Martin J. Knyr | |
Hello Track Headz.
Having just picked up the new Panzer Tracks on the Pz.Kpfw. II (Volume 2-2) I am indulging on all the great Ausf. L goodness covered by the publication.
However, I have notice a few differences between the scale plans in the book, reference photos and model kits.
The kit I am referring to is the Tasca - PzKpfw II Ausf L, and more specifically the final drive covers. Included in the publication are 1/10 plans of the final drive covers. Comparing them to the Tasca kit, the plans show the drive covers more round (egg oval shape) while the Tasca piece is more triangular in shape. They simply do not match very well between the book and the kit. Of course, I cant seem to locate any clear reference pictures to solve the drive cover mystery.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue before I lose my mind.
Thanks.
Martin. |
