Alex,
Hooray! Someone has a love for these ugly ducklings! Man that's going to be expensive. Personally, I'm going to take a slightly different route: Formations M4A4 hull, Legends M3 Lee update/detail set and the Formations bogies (all of this based on the Academy kit).
As to units, I've seen them at Camp Polk, LA; Fort Chaffee, AR and DTC (now NTC), CA. From what I've researched, the M3A4's didn't leave the U.S., but that could change tomorrow! Best of luck on the project and keep us posted of how it turns out.
