There were probably only three tanks that truly spanned the war years: the Sherman, the T34 and the Panzer IV. Thankfully, the modeling industry has provided us with multiple variants of each tank. But Paul, I agree. I can't get excited about Shermans. I have one example on my shelves because you gotta have at least one. The same for the other two. As a modeler, I look for something different when I choose a new kit to start and for me the Shermans are pretty much all green and only an educated observer would appreciate the differences. I see the same thing happening with aviation modelers. How many BF 109's do you want to build? The solution is easy. Find a subject that engages you, choose a good kit and then take advantage of huge amount of references and after market parts available and just go for it. I've been modeling armor for more than 20 years and I assure you we have reached a better place. Your wishes are your desire.
