Johannes: the 6249 tanks is what the Allies had in theatre and ready to engage the Germans. One also needs to consider the continuing supply lines. Another 6200 tanks could have been brought to the conflict before year's end if the war had lasted that long. The 239 represented everything the Germans had, probably.
