Klauss, Few months ago i was looking the same tha yopu and i coulndt find reference or pictures.
I made a horch with the tamiya kit.
I imagined how the guys that work with my in a factory could make that.
I assumed that a sheet was welding.
Some angles bar could be places welding and crossiong over the sits area, and then a sheet plates put over.
I reproduced that with plastic simulating three sheets riveted over angles bar. In the picture the result.
I supposse that wood was seldom and expensive in north afrika.
