There is a lot of canned, German-wartime footage of mixed types of German troops (Panzergrenadier, Panzer crew et cetera) clearing villages. Being staged does not mean that this did not happen. So, my question is whether this was part of the contemporary doctrine, let's say, to dismount the loaders from a Panzer Platoon to augment the infantry in certain situations.
I participated in training wherein a tank company's loaders, led by a junior tank commander, comprised a quick reaction force. This was the U.S. Army in the 90's but it gave rise to this question.
The fruit of the answer? Diorama choreography. Other, better modelers have done the traumatically dismounted Panzer man/Tanker very well and I want to go this way but not if it was the fantasy of a newsreel guy. Anyway, thought I'd put this out as a question...Anyone?
