| Subject: | Ford GPA in Russian Service | |

| Need help researching Ford GPA serving with the Russians, 1945. Any pics. covering markings/equipment would be greatly appreciated. The only reference I have is an old documentary "The Fall of Berlin" which showed several GPA's fording the Oder river on Zhukov's opening assault on Berlin. The footage is poor quality, but it looks to me like one of the vehicles carries some type of symbol/slogan. Several shots are of the GPA's midstream and show them carrying some type of soviet light or medium MG. Would these have been fixed or just set up on bi-pods? What type of MG? I build German armor and this struck me as unusual. Again any help would be appreciated. |
