Yes you can use the tamiya pz.kpfwII Type A-B-C as a dak tank.
I'm just doing one up myself.
You can find references of them in the following books:
1) The Essential Tank Identifcation - Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions 1939 - 1945 by Jorge Rosado & Chris Bishop. pages 130 and page 162
2) Africakorps in Action by squadron/ signal publications
page 7 and 33
3) Panzers in North Africa by Concord pages 10, 13,15 19 23 and 35.
4) Armor of the Deutsches Africakorps by Concord. pages 10,12,15,16,and 34
