The Alan kit is a late version and is designed for towing by a tractor.
It has spoked wheels. The spokes are very thick and the solid rubber
tyres are pretty bulky. It was thus able to cope with the stresses of
motorised traction. The earliest versions of the Sig 33 which were
designed for horse traction had pressed steel wheels which had little or
no rubber on the rims. I suspect the spoked wheels were an ecomomy
measure, or designed to save weight or reduce the amount of steel
consumed in it's production. The 105cm lefh 18 wheels followed much the
same evolution - pressed steel early heavy spoked on later models.
