Andy,
Yes, the Daimler scout car served with many different British formations in
Italy and Europe, continuing in British service through the Korean War.
Some, ex Malayan vehicles fitted with a small turret , even turned up in
Vietnam.A similar, Canadian built vehicle, the Lynx, also was produced and
served. I have some information on the Daimler scout car, from an old
AFV-G2 article which provides unit and markings info. I can photocopy and
snail mail if interested. "Ubiquitous" is the word that comes to mind. The
little buggers were everywhere, although there are not any good single
sources that I am aware of for photos. These links may be of some use.
