| Subject: | Panzerbefehlswagen PzIV | |

Hi All,
Thanks Paul- it's good to be back.
I just got a copy of the old Tamiya News # 1 on the Panzer IV at APG. In it
are several detail photos of the various PZ IV's and PZ IV hulls at Aberdeen
some time in the past. Does anyone have details on when these photos were
taken? The magazine is completely in Japanese and I can't find a publication
date.
My question is in reference to the Pz IV command tank. This is the same
vehicle that is now in the Brussels Military Museum and the subject of
photo essays in Fotosniper No. 1 and Allied-Axis No. 4. When comparing the
photos in the Tamiya mag with the photos of the vehicle in Belgium, a number
of things are apparent -
1. it has been repainted;
2. the turret is rotated to face the front;
3. the rails for mounting the side skirts are now missing;
4. the second front tow is now broken.
Does anyone know when and why this was moved from APG, and why or how were
the "changes" made.
Thanks!
Bruce
