After going through my 4 books and looking over the kit instructions and
the kit I believe I know what version it is. It appears to be a Tiger of
the 504 in Tunisia Fgst Nr 250112 with tactical # 131. It appears to be the
one captured intact by the Brits and presumably shipped back home and on
display at Bovington.

It's an odd combination of features early mantlet with out addtional armor
and flat not contoured escape hatch. Those two features alone shouldn't be
on the same vehicle let alone one made in February of 43. The mantlet
should be the thicker one and the flat hatch isn't till later, at least
going by Jentz's production history. But the pictures are pretty clear.
Even the lack of slots in the exhaust cover and the track rack on the front
plate with the U shaped step and handhold on the glacis. The Schiffer book
even uses this vehicle for the multiview line drawings at the front of
the book. Also no S-mine launchers though from the photo evidence it
doesn't look as if was retained on many Tigers. The captions say that it
had a full set of headlights, but they aren't in the pictures which is
curious, 504 Tigers had the headlights in the standard postion.

What is interesting and odd is that on the horizontal bow plate (glacis)
back against the superstructure and in the corner are raised circular
structures. At first I thought that was a different mount for the
headlights but they look to big. Anyone know what these are. They are not
on the kit, but are clearly in the overhead shot of 131 and in some of the
line drawings and photos. They'd be a piece of cake to make as would the S-
mine launchers.
