Yeah, you can use the Deuce, but a 5 or 10 ton would be better. Given
the weight of some of these crates, and even that a 2.5 ton truck was
frequently overloaded to 6 tons for road travel, you still can't get a
full bed of ammo before you collapse the springs. I made some 2.5 ton
ammo loads for Yanks a while ago and was surprised to find out how
little volume even an overloaded truck can really carry. Fill any truck
up to the top of the stakebody in ammo or jerrycans and the whole thing
will sink into the dirt on collapsed springs.
