Mechanically they are the same, but the fine details of the stowage,
both inside and out, differ from the American versions. Commonwealth
AFVs used different tools and placed them in different places on the
vehicles. We used different radios that had different antennas. We
frequently welded British ammo boxes all over any vehicles to be used as
extra stowage containers. You really need a couple of good photos of
specific vehicles to capture it all. Hanno's Sherman Register has a few
Commonwealth Sherman pictures, I believe and I'm sure there are a lot of
other photos on the net, too. If yo are in Canada try to borrow "South
Albertas, a Canadian Regiment at war" and "The Royal Canadian Armoured
Corps". Both have a lot of good photos. If you can wait a bit, Steve
Guthrie has a book coming out this summer on the Sherman in Canadian
service that will have some interesting and previously unpublished photos.
