Subject:  M-10 Bolt on armourList thread.

 Date:  Aug 24, 2002
 From:  David Kettler
Whats the story. Was this "bolt on armour" ever used? Why did they make so many tank detroyer upper hulls/turrets with with the bolts if they never were used. I understand the doctrine for tank detroyers was speed. Was the extra armour shipped overseas? Did the Brits use it, if only on the front hull? Any pictures of the stuff in use? I imagine it would be a bear to install and remove.

Another question where did the name wolverine come from? My theory is that it was made in Michigan, hense the name. Discuss

Thanks D.K.
