I see the Italeri kit has small rectangular holes in the hull side
strengthening ribs.
From my limited documentation on the vehicle (mostly DUKW in action and
the MMiR Allied Axis booklet that has DUKW pics), this does not seem a
very common feature, found one clear photo of a postwar DUKW in the IN
action book.

Was this feature specific of a production run or factory?
Do you have other period pics of this variant?
