| Subject: | Strange Stuart | |

The following might seem obvious to the true Stuart buff, but to me it
seems a little unusual. O page 5 of Jean Boucherys' 'The British Soldier'
vol 1 there is a picture of a Stuart in British service taken during
operation Goodwood, the hull, for those who don't have the book to hand is a
basic Stuart 1 (M3) of the welded type with cowls on the front visors, the
turret on the other hand, appears to be of the Stuart V (M3A3) type, with
twin roof hatches and no pistol ports.
This seems strange to me since 1,I've never seen this combination
before; and 2, because and don't think I've seen a Stuart 1 in the post '44
European theatre before. Any thoughts from the experts, or am I just showing
my ignorance?
