The T26E1 Super Pershing mounted the long T15E1 90mm gun. It was built
as a prototype and shipped to Europe just before the end of WW II
arriving at the 3rd armoured Div in 15 March 1945. The Divisional
Maintenance team added the extra armour in the field and the tank saw
service, but apparently no action in the closing weeks of the war.

Back in the US the T26 was being redesigned to take the T15E2 gun (same
gun, but 2 part ammo) with an internal equilibrator etc. Lack of funds
at the war's end apparently put a stop to the contract to produce them
and the regular M26 was built instead.
