The lower picture on page 60 of "The M4 Sherman at War" might have a couple
more of them in the middle ground. A larger version of this photo is in
"Patton's Tanks" The nearer one, on trhe left appears to have the turret
applique and a shallower glacis. It is speculative, but I would tentatively
ID this one as M4A3 dry stowage. It is interesting that this unit has M4A1s
as well. All seem to be rebuilt.

As for teh -E9 conversions. I guess the question is: would there be any
reason for the type NOT be deployed?
