Oh, certainly it was possible, the US Army did it themselves and liked
it enough to recommend that it be placed in production. Only the fact
that the M18 would be available before it, stopped that variant. But,
boy, would it bounce compared to the 75mm howitzer or the 37mm pipsqueak
on the M3/M5.
