From ss Armor by Robert C Stern Squadron Signal pubs. SS Panzer Brigade
attached to Das Reich during Kursk. In book colour plate of 211 of same
unit and what looks to be a front half shot of 201 of your colour plate.
Not able to state possitively as helmet obscures 2.Looking at a scan I'm
95% positve it's a 2.

As to your Itallien job. I scanned the picture in question and to me when
looking at the lower portions of the numbering in seems to be different but
looking at the top portion it seem to be just an white outline job. Also
the picture caption mentions the Elefant further down the road and it does
seem to match up with the one in PanzerJagers in Action as stated and I
believe the First company of PzJag Abt 653 did fight in the Anzio region
and the landscape in those pictures and ones in After the Battle's Article
of the Anzio Battles do seem consistant with the Pontine Marshes. So I can
not say yes for sure but I would guess it is in Italy. As to the interior
colour of the number the jury is still out on that question.
