Robert -
Tanks Illustrated No. 9, Last of the Panzers, German Tanks 1944-45, by William Auerbach has five photos of four various late production IV Js with mesh
side shields: photos 68 (really brewed up), 89 (mostly front view), 92 (right side, but well gutted. White #332 and a unit insignia faintly appear on the
turret skirt armor in front of the loader's hatch), and 98/99 (rear and right front, but burnt out). The mesh shields were certainly used on production IV
Js that saw combat. You should look for this photo book if you are interested in late war Western Front panzers and decide for yourself if the plumbing
that remains is (enough) like the DML/Dragon kit.
Yours,
CTew
