So, if I want a WWII model, this would have to be a "What if scenario"... with some Tiger II "July proposal" blowing the Tractor up-side-down (to show the widened track and mounting) !!!
Nice to find so knowledgable people out there.
The document you attached raised an interesting point: Would any M4 Medium Tank has been so equipped during WWII or were HVSS models available in sufficient numbers already? I have seen picture of a M7 Priest with such an arrangement, but I guess this is some Post war modification (a cheaper way to improve traction without going to the trouble of converting to HVSS, may be?)
