A good bit of research for you would be 'A Bridge Too Far' by Corneleus
Ryan, it gives a good over view of who was where and when, there's also
Osprey Vanguard no.9 'The British Guards Armoured Division 1941-45' by John
Sandars.
The famous drive into Holland on a 'one tank front' was spear headed by
the Irish Guards, who were, as you say, in Sherman V's, but the bridge at
Njimegen (you may want to check my spelling on that-apologies to Dutch
readers) was taken by the Grenadiers; the Coldstreams remained further south
in support of the American Airbourne.
By the time the attack turned into a rescue, the Grenadiers had been
brought back, exhausted, and replaced by the Welsh Guards (in Cromwells, I
believe.) You've also got the usual array of British armour involved
including Staghound and A.E.C heavy armoured cars used by the Household
Cavalry, M10's, Achilles and Sextons in R.A markings universal carriers etc,
etc.
