606 were in Italy with British units by Feb 1945 with 36 more on their way from the UK, details are at my site here:

According to their war diaries the Grant CDL regiments handed in 76mm tank ammo when 1 Tank Brigade disbanded in August 1944 not having seen action. Peter Brown's returns for 21 Army Group in June 1944 show 1 Tank Brigade as having 27 Sherman II, some or all of these could be Sherman IIA?
