a small town south of Stalingrad, and was there snow in September-October

Eric,
The first heavy snow storm was in mid Nov. The photos taken early Oct that I
just citied do not show snow, but dry dust.
Elista was jsut inside the Axis lines in Nov 42. One map showed it as being
sized by 4th Panzer Armee in the Summer, prior to that unit being directed
noth to Stalingrad city. By Nov it may have been under the control of the
4th Romanian Army.
Cheers
Neville
