Hi Steve,
There are 2 different J-R 85 mm barrels for T34/85's. there is the Zis-S-53
which was used on the T34/85 model 1944 and the T44. The other one was the
D5T which ws considerably shorter and used on the SU85, T34/85 model 1943, KV
85 and the JS I. Not having a ruler close at hand there is approximately
1/4" to 3/8" difference in length. This could be part of the confusion.
