Kurt,

Caveat: I can't let sleeping threads lay down...

The only indication the JR barrel kinda/sorta gives is the barrel
construction itself. The barrel has the familiar taper to the muzzle,
but the "mantlet" end of the barrel tapers the opposite way of the
"muzzle" end for about 6 mm. I assumed when I placed the barrel into the
DML turret that the part where the tapers meet is the part that should
be touching the mantlet. Well, when I did that, the barrel pretty much
fell out of said mantlet. That's what got me to doing all these measures
in the first place; the thing didn't fit very well into the DML mantlet,
so i got curious about the other qualities of the JR barrel.

FWIW, here's another run down of the measurements I've gotten:

JR barrel: 3045 scale mm
Kurt's measurements: 2946.4 scale mm
Zaloga's measurements from the Osprey book: 2888 scale mm.

All told, considering the "hydraulic shrinkage" Kurt mentioned earlier,
they all could be right, and are all well within that 152 mm "window" of
each other. My apologies to Mr. Zaloga (if he reads these forums) about
doubting the measurement previously. It's called a learning experience
on my part.

I think I'll stick to modeling Star Wars All Terrain Armored Transports,
Star Trek Klingon K'Tinga's and Krasnovian Star Crushers from now
on...LOL...
