Thanks for your offer of help. I saw this patient again today.He is quite eager tell me all that I wish to know that he can remember. He was sure he was in the 214th infanterie div. and also says the designation of his panzerjager abteilung was 214 as well. But here's the best info yet.He was wounded in mid January 1945 in Radom,a small town midway on the road between Warsaw and Krakaw on the Weichsel river(more of a stream he says).
He said he was the loader.After loading a shell he said you had to jump back and to the side to avoid the recoil and the blast.Once he was a little slow and the blast has given him tinnitis in one ear ever since.He kindly showed me the belly wound he received; the bullet remains there to this day.
